Bespoke Kitchen Project
Castle Beach, Falmouth
Our clients, Mark and Sue, were excited to work with us to create a truly unique kitchen, dining table and seating. Together we developed their chosen Marquetry, deciding on colours, details and forms to compliment the space. Using bold colours and subtle tones allowed us to design and build something perfect for their ‘forever’ home. A long L shaped run of base units with concealed appliances within, smart roller door wall units and a dining table with its own bench seat. Finished with a clean and tidy white, 12mm Dekton worktop. This kitchen provides a huge amount of storage and invites it’s users to spend time enjoying the space.
Modern Marquetry specifics: An Iroko cross grain Marquetry stripe flows across end panels, shows its glory through rebated door & drawer handles as well as a full cover dining table. A kitchen full of Marquetry features!
Materials: Built from scratch using the highest quality Birch plywood. Mustard and Polar white Formica frontage.
Finish: A hard-wearing spray finish lacquer coats everything within the units, allowing it to be wiped clean. A hard wax oil was used on the dining table and bench seat.
Mark & Sue’s Review:
“Dan and Ravi have designed, built, and installed an amazing kitchen in our Cornwall home. Dan took on our many ideas and requirements and together we produced a design which incorporated Stratum Design’s beautiful marquetry and creatively worked around some pre-existing structural issues. Dan used computer design software so we could see what the kitchen would look like, and took time to work together with us to refine the design.
Dan smoothly managed the whole project including organising the plasterer, plumber and electrician. Ravi and Dan then built and installed the kitchen. We found all the people involved in the project to be easy to work with and responsive to our needs.
The result is a wonderful, bright, well-built unique kitchen which is a pleasure to be in and use..”
